Roger Nunn has 40 years of hands-on international experience, including the Middle East, North and West Africa, the former Soviet Union, Central and South America, Australasia and Europe.
Graduating with first class honours in geology from the University of Durham, he spent 35 years in a varied career with BP.
After assignments in the United Kingdom, Brazil and New Zealand he served as BP’s Chief Geologist in Colombia and Exploration Manager in Yemen. He then moved from exploration into general management, serving firstly as President of BP Mexico, then later as Vice-President Reputation of BP Azerbaijan where he held responsibility for Government and External Relations, Social Performance, Communications, Security, and Health, Safety & Environment.
After completing a secondment into BP’s Corporate Centre as Principal Auditor, Upstream, he took up his final assignment as President and General Manager of BP Exploration Libya Ltd in Tripoli, residing in Tripoli from 2012 to 2014.
Since his retirement from BP in 2015, Roger has built Nunn Associates into a thriving and successful consultancy well-known for its authoritative and practical advice across a variety of oil and gas topics delivered to a diverse client base.
Roger combines the rare suite of core strengths needed to build and sustain a business in a challenging environment with an outstanding track record of getting things done. These core strengths include a deep and broad knowledge of the oil and gas industry, high-level relationship management and advocacy; risk management and governance; and leadership and people development.
